SLEEPMAKESWAVES ANNOUNCE10TH ANNIVERSARY AUSTRALIAN TOURWITH SPECIAL GUESTSAND SO I WATCH YOU FROM AFAR (NORTHERN IRELAND) hello everyoneflashback to 2008. amy winehouse released back to black. you could see the dark knight in movie theatres. but you couldn't get directions with a smartphone because they didn't exist.guess which sydney post-rock band did though?that's right - it's been ten long years since sleepmakeswaves emerged from the primordial musical ooze, and started releasing the hooky summertime jams you've come to know and love, (including the ITAWT EP).so we thought hey, we should do something to celebrate this...and then we reflected on everything and thought, wouldn't it be nice if we could convince Jonathan 'Kid' Khor to restring his baritones and lace up his sneakers for one more jaunt with his strange musical family?so. without further ado, we are so so pleased to announce our TENTH ANNIVERSARY TOUR. this tour is a celebration of ten years of sleepmakeswaves, and it means a lot to us to bring this show around australia. we will be reaching deep into the back catalogue to unearth some old favourites, as well as some more recent jams from love of cartography and made of breath only. Kid will be joining us for all shows on this special once-off tour. then, as part of this deal, we can never contact him again.what more could make this better? how about bringing one of our all-time favourite bands out with us for their FIRST EVER tour around Australia. since we first met them in Austin in 2012, ASIWYFA have been one of the most visceral and exciting instrumental punk-rock bands we've ever seen, and they have inspired us heaps over the years. touring with them is a big honour and we're so stoked to have them out with us on this lineup, to show them a good time around our country.this is the first of a few announcements coming your way this year so stay tuned as there's a few tricks left in these post-rock dogs.big love from us<3- Otto, Alex & Tim"I'm delighted to be sharing the stage with these fine men once again. It will be just like a family reunion, but without the creepy uncle."- Kid"We couldn’t be more excited to finally be coming over to play shows for our fans in Australia, you have been very patient. See you out there. It’s going to be an adventure.”- ASIWYFA
